Caity Bonine

I have been messing around with cameras since before I can remember. My grandparents loved practicing photography in their free time, developing film in their mobile dark room. My grandmother on my dad’s side is a successful, self-employed painter, and my mom is also an incredible pastel artist. The passion for art runs through my veins. I have always been enamored by books, paintings, poetry, music. I was always the quiet girl in class, living in my own world of made-up stories, getting my drawings taken away by the teacher because I was way more focused on them than solving math problems. I have known since I was 9 years old that I wanted a job in the arts, a creative outlet, somewhere to put all my passion. But as I grew older, I was so afraid of failing. I almost tried to get rid of that side of myself.

Until I took the jump and started my own business in January of 2020. Despite the imposter syndrome that often crept up that first year (and occasionally still does to this day), it was the most certain I’d ever felt about anything. I was always such an indecisive person, but when I tell you I knew photography was going to change my life… it was an overwhelming, unavoidable feeling. It was like finally hitting the bullseye on a target you’ve been aiming for and missing your whole life. Nothing excites me more than taking photos. I am obsessed with this job, if I can even call it that.

With that being said, thank you for being here! You are the very reason I get to do what I love. Thank you for supporting my business, you will never understand how much it truly means to me.

MY GOAL AS AN ARTIST

The most important thing to me as an artist is to create meaningful work. I think that the beauty of life is often overlooked or goes unnoticed and I want to be the kind of artist that brings light to it. I want people to see my work and feel their eyes widen or their breathing slow or the hair on their arms stand up, even if it’s just for a split second. I want to help you romanticize your life and capture moments that you can look back on forever.
